A word from David:

Hello All…so we have missed 2 Sunday meetings so far. We have had 3 Wednesday night prayer meetings so far as well. Here is what I know from experience, that many, if not all of us, are experiencing…
· Wednesday night meeting was not as exciting as the first one. Our impatient and normal way for us to think is that this isn’t working or we are missing something. Yet, as Mark Westinghouse pointed out in scripture, the apostles WAITED for Pentecost to come. During that wait, NOTHING happened. God has a time and He will follow His own schedule whether we get impatient or not. He already encouraged us by giving many words and pictures to the young and old alike in the first meetings. The flesh says abandon this. The Spirit says WAIT!
· Sundays…bittersweet for us…part of us has enjoyed the “day off” finding fun Summer things to do. As a couple of folks joked with me, “David did this to find a way to enjoy his boat this Summer”. LOL Well, obviously I wouldn’t do that but there has been some fun in getting away, for sure! There is a definite, certain commitment to go to meetings that part of us enjoys NOT DOING. But another part of us SHOULD BE missing it and growing hungry to resume this fellowship. We should have a sense of growing expectation as to when we resume and what will it be like and “it is going to be exciting” kind of thing.
o Ah….but the flesh wages war against the Spirit…here’s how you can tell where you are at and what you should do about it…
§ If you feel SOME relief from not going to a meeting on Sunday, but also a growing hunger and godly impatience (oxymoron?) to resume them, you are probably in a fairly healthy place as it is normal for our flesh to long to be “lazy” while the Holy Spirit works on our hearts for the things that will enlarge the Kingdom and set us free. Just keep praying for our new direction.
§ If you do NOT have a growing hunger pain for missing the meetings and a real desire welling up in you, to be in His presence along with His saints (your spiritual family), it is a sign that the flesh is winning the war in you! Don’t be condemned. Just do something about it! Have you read your Bible lately? Have you played some worship music and sat before the Lord? Have you gotten together with other Christian/friends and prayed together? Have you took advantage of this extra time to read a Christian book that could “enlarge your heart” in the things of God? Those things would go a long way to beating the flesh back and strengthening the Spirit. When we strengthen the Spirit, we hear what God is saying to us better and our lives become more enriched.
So, I write this to encourage us all…don’t get impatient and be sure to work daily in the battle between the flesh and the Spirit because God has a plan for your life, and it is a GOOD one! J
PS. Pro printers is in the middle of an important audit/consultation by an expert so I will not be able to attend Wednesday night. I am going to miss it because I have loved those meetings! One night I stood for an hour and a half without ANY pain in my knees!!! As soon as it was over, the pain was back as usual but it showed me that the power of the Spirit is at work there as I could stand forever in His presence w/out any pain!!! I love it! I will be praying for you guys…thanks J
